Terzic backs Djaló and Serrano as the market closes
Coach Edin Terzic has 25 players in his squad, not including Egiluz, who is out with a long‑term injury. Although the transfer market closed on Tuesday without any signings, Álvaro Djaló and Nico Serrano remain, although the latter has not trained in recent days alongside Juan Echeverría and journalist Carlos Zaballa.
Andoni Gorosabel and Adama Boiro have left on loan to Espanyol and West Ham United respectively, and Unai Vencedor has signed for Burgos after terminating his contract.
Coach's statements
“All the players who have been with us since day one knew their role and our expectations,” Terzic said. “I am happy for the players who have found good opportunities to improve their personal situation.”
Regarding Atlético, Terzic stated: “There is no team in the world that is invincible.”
The German explained that Djaló is absent due to illness and that both Djaló and Serrano will return to the squad after this weekend. “The door is always open to good performances, regardless of the player's age, history, or transfer fee,” he added.
With a squad of 25 available players, Terzic trusts that the blend of youngsters and veterans will allow him to maintain competitiveness in the league and in European competitions.
