Savinho eyes Spurs' project as De Zerbi's next recruit
Savinho, the Braziliaan winger, is reported to be ready to swap Manchester City for Tottenham Hotspur, joining the Spurs' project overseen by Roberto De Zerbi, – Vandaag om 23:01 and a follow‑up at 23:05 – signalling fresh interest.
Tottenham have been on a spending spree this transfer summer, having poured €267 million into new signings. Already on the books at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dúbravka, all adding depth to the Londenaren squad.
Savinho has expressed openness to the De Zerbi project, noting that a year ago he extended his contract with Manchester City to mid‑2031. However, he was not a regular starter last season, prompting thoughts of a departure.
A move for Savinho will not be cheap. Reports suggest Manchester City wants to secure a replacement before agreeing to his exit, yet Tottenham appear poised to make a bid in the short term.
The winger’s journey began when Troyes, also part of the City Football Group, bought him from Atlético Mineiro. After a failed loan at PSV, he found form on loan at Girona before being signed permanently by The Citizens in the summer of 2024 for €25 million.
