Rooney pushes Man Utd for four signings, tells Rashford to step up
Wayne Rooney has publicly urged Manchester United to complete FOUR additional signings this summer and warned Marcus Rashford that he must improve his body language if he wants to remain at Old Trafford as the club prepares for the Premier League launch this weekend.
United are gearing up for the new Premier League, which starts this weekend, yet transfer business remains at the forefront. The Red Devils have already secured three summer arrivals – Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow – all joining Old Trafford.
The club has until September 1 to finalise its transfer activity. Rooney has outlined four specific areas where he believes reinforcement is essential before the deadline.
Four positions Rooney wants filled
Rooney singled out Arsenal prospect Myles Lewis‑Skelly as a prime target, praising his ability to operate as a left‑back or centre midfielder and calling the move “an absolute no‑brainer”. He also said he would like to see another centre‑back, another central midfield player and another centre‑forward added to the squad.

Commenting on Luke Shaw, Rooney said, “I thought Luke Shaw had a really good season last season, but he didn’t have the best game against AC Milan. So I don’t think you can rely on Luke Shaw to be consistent for the whole season.”
Rooney's message to Rashford
Rashford returned to United this summer after a loan spell with Barcelona and featured as a substitute in United’s friendly defeat to AC Milan over the weekend. Rooney questioned Rashford’s hunger, asking, “Does he want to play for Manchester United? The easiest way to rebuild a relationship with the fans is to work hard and body language.”
Rooney recalled his own experience in 2010 when he asked to leave the club, noting that rebuilding trust requires visible effort on the pitch.
