Ronaldo and Jesus end heated dispute before duel with Denmark
In the stadium in Oslo, spectators saw the 41‑year‑old Cristiano Ronaldo sit on the bench for the full 90 minutes, while Portugal won the Nations League match against Norway 2‑1. The victory, however, sparked an open dispute between the superstar and national coach Jorge Jesus, which immediately came into focus.
Tensions after the Nations League win
After the final whistle, Ronaldo left the pitch visibly upset and omitted the usual thanks to the fans in attendance. Jesus publicly stated that he wanted to confront the captain over his behaviour, with a major clash looming. The following Tuesday, Ronaldo skipped the training with his teammates and instead completed an individual session in the hotel gym, the Portuguese federation told RTP.
Before the training session began, Ronaldo and Jesus had already held a conversation, which initially led to no agreement. The tense situation escalated to the point that federation president Pedro Proença had to travel to Denmark to arrange an urgent meeting. Proença even cancelled Portugal's U21 match in the Azores for this purpose.

Reconciliation before the duel with Denmark
Before Proença arrived, Ronaldo and Jesus held another talk, which, according to RTP, cleared up the differences and brought peace to the dressing room. Both could publicly demonstrate the reconciliation at the press conference ahead of the upcoming duel with Denmark.
Sportingly, however, the question remains open whether Ronaldo will return to the starting eleven against Denmark or whether coach Jesus will again rely on João Félix and Gonçalo Ramos, who both scored in the Norway win. The decision will significantly shape the future of the Portuguese national team.
