Roma’s medical optimism trims Robinio Vaz’s recovery timeline
From France, French striker Robinio Vaz, born in 2007, tore a collateral ligament in his right knee during Roma’s final summer training session, sparking fears of a lengthy lay‑off, but the club’s medical staff now consider the injury less serious than first thought.
The ligament damage will force Vaz to temporarily interrupt his summer training programme, delaying his preparation for the upcoming season. He remains under the care of Roma’s medical staff.
Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis reported that the recovery time could be shorter than first expected. Denis highlighted the club’s optimism after the revised medical assessment.
Denis estimates Vaz will be out of action for around two weeks, avoiding a longer absence that might have jeopardised the start of his season. This timeframe would keep him on track for Roma’s pre‑season schedule.
A swift return would allow the young French forward to join Roma’s pre‑season plans without a significant delay. Preserving the club’s attacking options, the team can maintain its intended tactical preparations.
Roma’s staff remain confident that Vaz’s rehabilitation will stay on schedule, allowing him to contribute once the season begins. The club’s tactical plans therefore remain unchanged despite the brief setback.
