Roma Gasperini gains key fitness boosts before United clash

Serie A side Roma travel to Old Trafford next week ahead of the high‑stakes Champions League tie against Manchester United. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini says the squad has received significant injury boosts, offering a more complete line‑up than previously feared.
Injury updates lift Roma's prospects
Corriere dello Sport Paulo Dybala, known as La Joya, has returned to full training. He is expected to sit on the bench for Roma’s upcoming tie against Cagliari. Gasperini hinted the Argentine could be fit enough to start against Manchester United.
Manu Kone also appears close to returning, with the Frenchman targeting full fitness for the Manchester United clash. Il Messaggero, via AllRoma, notes he suffered a muscle issue in the recent Real Madrid encounter. The striker has set the tie as his primary goal.
Mile Svilar’s recovery shows encouraging signs. Gasperini told the press that Svilar could make progress by Thursday or Friday, potentially making him available for the Manchester match or the subsequent game against Sassuolo.
“Svilar, on the other hand, could make some progress this week, around Thursday or Friday,” Gasperini said via SiamoLaRoma. “He could therefore be fit for next week, but that remains to be seen. Let’s hope so, because having him available for the Manchester match would be ideal, or for the match against Sassuolo.”
The injury to first‑choice goalkeeper forced Pierluigi Gollini to start the last three league games. Gasperini was quizzed about the situation today, stressing the importance of Svilar’s return.
Not long ago, many believed the Giallorossi would enter the side depleted, but positive signs are now emerging from the Italian capital, bolstering confidence ahead of the Champions League encounter.
