Gian Piero Gasperini eyes Dybala’s training return ahead of Cagliari

Good news for Gian Piero Gasperini as Paulo Dybala has returned to training, giving the Giallorossi a boost ahead of their upcoming fixtures. The Argentine forward, who missed recent games with calf pain, completed part of today’s session and could be considered for Tuesday’s clash with Cagliari.

Injury and immediate substitution

During the Champions League match between Roma and Real Madrid, Dybala suffered his first injury of the season at halftime. Experiencing calf pain, the Argentine was substituted as a precaution.

La Joya took part in today’s training drill with the squad and responded positively to on‑field testing, indicating a steady recovery.

Path to possible selection

Gian Piero Gasperini will decide whether Dybala can feature in Tuesday’s match against Cagliari or will have to wait for the away game in Udine on Saturday, 31 October at 18:00. If the positive sensations are confirmed, the number 21 could also be named for the upcoming encounter with Pisacane’s Rossoblu.

Roma convened at Trigoria for a short recovery session for players who featured in yesterday’s game at the Maradona stadium against Napoli, while the rest of the squad carried out a regular training programme.

Dybala has missed the fixtures against Genoa, Slovan Bratislava and Napoli while working to re‑join the Giallorossi. Despite providing several assists this season, the Argentine has yet to score in either Serie A or the Champions League.
