The British company previously held the Ligue 1 TV rights for the 2024‑2029 cycle at €375 million per year. That contract was terminated in 2025 after subscriber numbers fell short of expectations.
In a striking reversal, has now secured the TV rights to broadcast Spain’s top‑flight Championnat, the Liga, in France. The rights had been owned by since 2012.
The Liga acquisition expands ’s portfolio, which already includes Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Copa del Rey and a selection of matches from the Dutch Eredivisie and the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
