Real moves up its visit to Real Madrid to December

Real Sociedad will play its second LaLiga match against Real Madrid in the first week of December, moving forward from the February date that was listed in the official calendar. The change comes before the first half of the tournament concludes.

The schedule was altered with a bit of trickery, as the new date was set alongside the Barcelona‑Atlético clash to be able to move it without bothering anyone except the participants of the Spanish Super Cup. Thus, the meeting is brought forward without affecting the other commitments.

In the first‑matchday encounter, played in August at the Santiago Bernabéu, Diomande (d) broke away with the ball after getting past Barrene, Soler and Zubeldia. According to Kiko Huesca of EFE in Donostia, the episode marked the start of the season.

Scheduled date for the match

The date is not officially confirmed, but it is slated for Wednesday the 3rd at Anoeta Stadium. Real Sociedad will arrive after playing on Sunday in Seville and before its Thursday commitment in London.

Real Madrid also will not be able to play the match on Thursday because it has the Champions League the following week and must keep Saturday for its league commitment.

The four teams exempt from the second round of the Cup, which takes place from December 2 to 4, will play the 23rd league round there. In this way, a second‑half match will be contested before the first half ends, right after round 14 (Real‑Sevilla).

In other news, Lyon, the next visitor to Anoeta, loses and drops from the lead to fifth place in France. Unai Valverde and Héctor Fort begin to score as txuri urdin, strengthening Real Sociedad's squad.
