Real Madrid shuts down Enzo Fernandez rumours amid agent claims

🇬🇧

Real Madrid released an official statement denying any contact with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández and confirming that the club has no intention of pursuing a transfer, effectively shutting down recent speculation sparked by his agent’s comments in recent media reports.

Javier Pastore, the Argentine’s representative, said yesterday that Real Madrid had been approached and that the midfielder was among the best players of the year. He added, “Yes, Real Madrid has sounded out, Real Madrid likes the best players and Enzo has been one of the best of the year this year. He is a player that Real Madrid likes and he likes Real Madrid, as he also likes other clubs that are there. Now we have to wait a little while.”

Real Madrid responded with a formal denial, emphasizing that no contact has been made with the player. “In light of the reports and statements that have appeared in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid CF in the player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not made any effort, either direct or indirect, to sign the aforementioned player and, likewise, has no intention of undertaking such an operation.”

The club also expressed admiration for Fernández’s abilities, noting: “Real Madrid wishes to express its utmost respect for Enzo Fernández, a great footballer whose career and quality are widely known, as well as for Chelsea FC, a club with which it maintains an excellent institutional relationship.”

Furthermore, Real Madrid lamented the spread of unfounded rumours, adding: “Real Madrid regrets that, despite the clarity of the facts and the lack of any action on the part of the club, information continues to be disseminated that does not correspond to reality and that only contributes to generating confusion among fans and unnecessarily harming the entities and people involved.”

The statement concluded that, given the respect owed to Chelsea FC and the absence of any negotiation, the club will not pursue any transfer involving Enzo Fernández at this time. Media speculation is expected to subside as the official position clarifies the situation.
