Real Madrid demands Javier Tebas's resignation after the controversy
Real Madrid has issued an official statement in which it describes it as intolerable that the president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, uses his position to discredit the club, following the controversy that arose in the Sunday match (Sunday) against Atlético de Madrid.
Accusations against the president
The club has issued an official announcement denouncing that the president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas Medrano, uses his institutional position to continue disparaging Real Madrid in every public intervention. The entity considers it intolerable that the official is obsessed with the Merengue, turning the club into a permanent target of his attacks.
Furthermore, the president's latest statement has been described as serious and incomprehensible, as it is based on an article by an independent journalist published on a digital platform. Moreover, Tebas went on to criticize the club's sporting strategy, something the statement described as completely inappropriate and irresponsible.
Demand for neutrality
It is surprising, according to the club, that the president devotes time and his personal channels to publicly discredit Real Madrid, instead of contributing to building confidence in the institutions that guarantee the competition's impartiality. That conduct, according to the statement, is damaging the image of La Liga and Spanish football worldwide.
Real Madrid accuses LaLiga chief Tebas of power abuse after derby loss
In his defence, Tebas posted on social media a message in which he described the conspiracy narrative as an ‘alibi’ to cover up visible shortcomings in the early matches of the season, stating: “Sostenere che gli arbitri sono diretti contro il Real Madrid è vivere in un’altra galassia.” Tebas himself defended his stance by claiming the criticism was necessary. The club recalled that the controversy arose after the Madrid derby, where the referees did not send off Kang‑In Lee nor Romero, and where José Mourinho displayed a printed image at the press conference that was ridiculed by Atlético. Moreover, the statement cited similar episodes involving other clubs, such as Barcelona.
Call for new leadership
Facing this situation, Real Madrid demands the appointment of a new LaLiga president who understands that the role does not entail ownership of the championship, but management in service of the clubs. The statement also names Florentino Pérez and Manuel Bruña, who support the request for an executive who acts with honesty and neutrality.

The statement concludes that Spanish professional competition urgently needs a figure capable of administering it with integrity, and that the clubs, including REAL MADRID, will continue to press until the requested change is achieved.
