Raheem Sterling was arrested following a car crash involving Feyenoord on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred in Rotterdam as Sterling drove a vehicle. Feyenoord’s technical director Mark de Vrij confirmed the club’s involvement in the matter.
Sterling, who joined Feyenoord in July 2022, has made 68 appearances and scored 15 goals for the club. His recent form has been inconsistent, with just one goal in his last 12 league matches.
The Dutch police confirmed Sterling’s arrest, citing suspicions of driving under the influence. Feyenoord stated they are cooperating fully with authorities.
Sterling’s agent did not respond to requests for comment. The player’s next court appearance is scheduled for next month.
