Rabiot slams Milan's lack of effectiveness, wants more players in the box

After the 1‑1 draw against Sassuolo, French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, under the direction of Ruben Amorim, said that AC Milan deserved more points, pointing to the lack of offensive efficiency and the need to put more players in the opponent’s area; the club sits in fifth place with 12 points after six rounds, unbeaten.

Lack of offensive efficiency

Rabiot told Italian journalists: “We lost two points today. We could have done better and, in my opinion, earned the three points, which are always important.” The player emphasized that the team wasted clear chances that could have secured the win.

He also criticised the performance of the full‑backs, stating that “the full‑backs have to play more offensively” and that, despite training work, it is not easy to apply these ideas on the pitch.

According to Rabiot, Milan has maintained possession and created many important chances, but “we created very little” in terms of finished attempts.

The midfielder is 31 years old and joined AC Milan in 2025, after spells at Marseille and Juventus, bringing experience to the Italian midfield.

In the standings, Milan is in fifth place with 12 points, remaining unbeaten; the top of the table is shared by Inter Milan and Lazio, both with 16 points.

The contrast between dominant possession and the scarcity of goals highlights the need to improve offensive efficiency to prevent the team from falling behind in the upcoming rounds.
