Pubill abandons Spain's training because of blisters

The Spanish national team held its first training as world champions on Tuesday, September 22, at the Football City in Las Rozas, Madrid. The session attracted a massive crowd and featured Grimaldo, Baena and Marc Pubill, who left early due to foot discomfort.

Pubill's withdrawal and reaction

In addition to the three athletes, the event also noted the recent absence of Marcos Llorente, who announced his retirement from La Roja a few days earlier. Luis Milla said: “What Marcos Llorente says is common sense. Surely the human body is ready to get up earlier.” The training photo was taken by Rodrigo José Antonio García Sirvent. A session that turned into a mass bath for the entire audience.

The RFEF explained that Pubill suffered blisters that prevented him from training normally, but assured that the ailment will not stop him from joining the rest of his teammates in Spain's commitments. The Atlético de Madrid player left early, but remains available for upcoming matches.

La Roja will kick off the Nations League this Saturday in the United Kingdom against England, followed by two home games against Croatia and the Czech Republic, and will finish with the return match in Croatia. According to the information, Pubill will be able to attend all those commitments.

The day was described as festive, with a massive turnout of fans and the celebration of the world title. However, Pubill's early withdrawal remains the only negative note, reminding that even in moments of euphoria setbacks can arise.
