Champions League
PSV stays under the €40 million threshold in the Champions League
Through PSV's defeat at RB Leipzig the club has not yet broken the forty‑million‑euro threshold of earned UEFA euros. VI has listed the revenues so far, making clear how much PSV has already received in this Champions League season.
Starting premium and Value Pillar
The first amount that was fixed when PSV qualified for the Champions League was the starting premium of €18.62 million, the same for every participating team. The second premium item, the so‑called Value Pillar, consists of fixed television revenues and a coefficient list. Since 2024 the television revenues for PSV generate €14.025 million, while the coefficient bonus amounts to €5.882 million. Together these items form a sum of €19.907 million.
Bonus premiums and ranking bonus
In addition to the fixed amounts PSV can earn extra from results in the competition phase. Each win yields €2.1 million, a draw €0.7 million; PSV recorded one draw against Shakhtar Donetsk (1‑1). A place in the play‑offs (final ranking 9‑24) gives €1 million, while qualification for the round of 16 yields €11 million. The subsequent rounds are valued as follows: quarter‑final €12.5 million, semi‑final €15 million, final €18.5 million and a win in the final €10.5 million (of which €6.5 million is a victory premium and €4 million for participation in the European Super Cup).
At the end of the competition phase PSV receives a ranking bonus. The last place in that phase gives €275 000, rising to €9.9 million for the winner. Even with eight defeats PSV would still have received at least €275 000.
VI notes that the mentioned amounts are exclusive of revenue from merchandise and other recent sources. For a complete overview of PSV's European campaign VI PRO offers analyses, opponent profiles, interviews and podcasts via a club subscription.
