PSG Why Luis Enrique chose to extend his contract until 2030

PSG lifted the veil this Monday on an interview with Luis Enrique to formalise the extension of his contract until 2030, marking the first time the Spanish strategist will stay as long on the same bench. This announcement comes as he begins his fourth season at the helm of the Parisian club.

A different city and club

"Paris is different, Paris is special," says Luis Enrique, highlighting the confidence of the club, the president and Luis Campos. He recalls a phrase he said while in charge of the Spanish national team, where he admitted the uncertainty of results but asserted that his style of play was the best way to win.

The decisive role of Luis Campos

The 56‑year‑old coach attributes much of his decision to the connection with sporting director Luis Campos. "With Luis, the connection was very clear from the first minutes," he explains, adding that Campos immediately gave him confidence and the desire to achieve great things for the club.

He notes that this relationship has surpassed all his previous collaborations, describing the link as a "very important moment" and the "best way for a coach to work". Luis Enrique believes that the sporting director must be courageous, recruit players suited to the coach's ideas, and he observes that their visions are similar.

Ambitions and philosophy

The coach states that the objective from his arrival was to "make history", emphasizing a constant desire to win. He wants the team to be recognised as respectful, courageous and ambitious, made up of players of great talent.

He adds that enjoyment must be shared between players and supporters, and that showing children that you can play and win while having fun is essential for the future of football in Paris.
