PSG crushes Villarreal and cements top spot in the Champions League

Paris Saint‑Germain overcame Villarreal 0‑6 in the Champions League group stage, matchday J‑4, on Tuesday 3 November 2026 at La Cerámica. The team coached by Luis Enrique scored four goals in the first 17 minutes and recorded its fourth win in the competition.
PSG lead
PSG remains group leader with a perfect 12 points and 20 goals for, while Villarreal is left with only three points and showed a great defensive weakness. This advantage consolidates the Parisian side as a strong favourite for the title.
Iñigo Pérez had announced a less offensive lineup, leaving Moleiro and Mikautadze on the bench, without Ferran Torres in the starting eleven and with Mayulu joining Akliouche and Doué up front. This decision aimed to counter the style of the team coached by Luis Enrique.
In the early minutes, Joao Neves opened the scoring after a corner kick; at 12' a mistake by Gulácsi gave the ball to Doué, who widened the lead with a pass from Akliouche. A minute later Mayulu scored the third goal and, before halftime, Fabián completed the 0‑4 with another pass from Akliouche.
Despite the absence of stars such as Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia, PSG appeared as an almost unstoppable machine and maintained constant pressure throughout the match.
Fabián doubles the lead
At the start of the second half, Fabián scored again at five minutes, registering a brace that raised the score to 0‑5. The goal by Fabián consolidated the lead before the break.
After the break, Iñigo Pérez introduced Cardona for Pépé, while PSG brought on Ferran and Godts. These changes aimed to revitalize the play of both sides.
Villarreal tried to react with long-range shots from Gueye and Moleiro, but barely troubled goalkeeper Safonov. However, the defence of Villarreal continued without finding an answer.
The 17‑year‑old Boly entered the field three minutes early and scored the sixth goal for PSG with ten minutes left. His performance highlights the depth of the PSG squad.
PSG players celebrated one of the goals at La Cerámica, as reported by Andreu Esteban of EFE, quoted by journalist Xavi Solé. The goal was received with cheers from the local crowd.
