Pogba mocks the 115 accusations against Manchester City in Singapore

While the Formula 1 Grand Prix lit up the streets of Singapore, Paul Pogba took advantage of promotional activities to launch, with irony, a jab at his former rival, the Red Devils, while being questioned about the 115 financial violation accusations hanging over Manchester City.

Provocation at the heart of the dispute

The French player was in Singapore as part of promotional activities linked to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. He took advantage of the event to make, with a hint of irony, a comment aimed at the Red Devils, his former rival. This statement immediately attracted media attention.

When asked about the ongoing procedure targeting the 115 accusations of financial rule violations against Manchester City FC, the former midfielder replied with amusement. “I have nothing to say, to be honest,” he said, before adding that he hoped the situation would not affect the Premier League. His light tone contrasted with the seriousness of the case.

Pogba then alluded to the titles the Citizens have lost, recalling the 2017‑2018 and 2020‑2021 seasons, when Manchester United, the Red Devils, finished second behind the Citizens. “I simply hope this does not affect the Premier League and that we can recover two titles,” he asserted, highlighting the Manchester rivalry.

If the possible stripping of titles in favor of the Dolphins remains today a pure legal speculation, the 2018 world champion’s remark shows the sensitivity of the case in England. For its part, Manchester City continues to vigorously contest all the alleged infringements, while the authorities continue to examine the case.
