Arsenal's Rice, Gabriel and Raya on PFA shortlist
Declan Rice, Gabriel and David Raya have been named on the PFA Men's Player of the Year shortlist. The shortlist was released ahead of the annual awards ceremony. All three were instrumental in Arsenal's title‑winning campaign.
Also on the shortlist are Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City forwards Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki. Their inclusion reflects strong individual seasons across the league.
Rice operated from midfield, providing defensive cover and driving forward passes throughout the season. Gabriel anchored Arsenal's back line, contributing both defensive solidity and occasional goals.
Raya kept a high number of clean sheets, underpinning Arsenal's defensive record. His shot‑stopping helped the club secure the Premier League trophy for the first time since 2004.
The award will be presented at the PFA ceremony later this year. The nominees will compete for the accolade that recognises the league's best performer.
