Pedro Porro's injury forces Spain to go without him in Nations League
Pedro Porro suffered a knock in the 16th minute of today’s Premier League clash between Tottenham and Aston Villa, prompting the full‑back to withdraw from Spain’s UEFA Nations League squad. The injury, sustained while representing Tottenham, forced the RFEF to rule him out of the upcoming competition.
Porro’s setback comes as he was only just re‑established in Tottenham’s starting line‑up, having missed several recent games with muscle issues. The full‑back had been eager to cement his place after a spell on the sidelines. His absence leaves him unavailable for Luis de la Fuente’s selection.
The Spanish squad now comprises 25 players, with Luis de la Fuente opting not to call up a replacement for Porro. Consequently, Spain will head into the UEFA Nations League campaign one defender short. The RFEF confirmed the unchanged roster later on.
