Parker named West Ham manager

West Ham United presented Scott Parker (46) as the new manager on Wednesday morning. See us more often on Google. Parker, former English international, previously played for West Ham between 2007 and 2011.

West Ham said goodbye on Tuesday to Portuguese Nuno Espírito Santo, who had been in charge since September last year and relegated the club from the Premier League. The former goalkeeper is being held responsible for West Ham's inconsistent results at the start of this season. After thirteen rounds of matches, West Ham sits in eighth place.

Parker's past and ambitions

Joël Veltman and Joël Piroe now have to deal with Parker as manager. Parker was without a club as a coach after his departure from Burnley in April. He has previously worked as a manager/coach at Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge. At Burnley he was in charge of the squad from July 2024.

Parker hopes to get West Ham back into the Premier League. In a quote on the club website the former midfielder said: “I have been active in the Championship three times and have also come out of it three times. This is a tough competition, that cannot be denied at all. And I will use all my experience and knowledge to understand what we need to achieve consistency.”

Parker returns after fifteen years to East London to succeed Nuno Espírito Santo as the Hammers head coach. Nuno Espírito Santo was dismissed on 3 November after just over thirteen months in charge. Parker, 46, has achieved promotion three times from the Sky Bet Championship. West Ham has appointed Parker as the new head coach.
