OM's summer prep hit by defender Sacha Lung's weeks-long injury

🇫🇷 By 4AllFootball ·

Olympique de Marseille confirmed that 18‑year‑old defender Sacha Lung suffered a quadriceps injury during a training session in Tignes with the club’s Pro 2 squad, and will be unavailable for four to six weeks. The setback comes as Marseille’s summer preparations intensify.

The injury adds a fresh concern to OM’s summer camp, which has already faced several setbacks. According to Sarah Nicolas, a journalist with La Voix Du Vestiaire, the defender’s muscle problem was identified during the Tignes session with the Pro 2 group.

Medical staff diagnosed a quadriceps lesion, which typically sidelines players for four to six weeks. The exact recovery period will be confirmed by the Phocaean club once definitive medical examinations are completed.

Sacha Lung joined Olympique de Marseille in June after developing at RC Strasbourg. The 18‑year‑old Frenchman signed his first professional contract running to 2029, turning down interest from multiple European clubs.

Olympique de Marseille announced the signing on its official account on 19 June 2026, posting a photo and the caption “Sacha Lung joins Olympique de Marseille. 🔵⚪️ More info”. The post included the word “Plus” as a call to further details.

The club’s medical team will update the player’s availability after the pending examinations, determining whether the four‑to‑six‑week estimate holds.
