ÖFB players Danso and Felix Bacher start Europa League with wins

The Austrian national defenders Kevin Danso and Felix Bacher opened the league phase of the Europa League with victories on Wednesday. Danso played in the 1-0 home win of AFC Sunderland against AZ Alkmaar, while Bacher was substituted in the 46th minute in the 2-1 success of Olympique Lyon over RSC Anderlecht.

In the third compulsory match for the English, it was the first full success of Danso after he played in central defence.

Head coach Ralf Rangnick called up Bacher to the A‑Kader for the first time at the beginning of the week; his involvement in the second half marked the victory of Olympique Lyon.
