Nike deal could lift PSG’s revenue to Barcelona levels

🇫🇷 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·
Paris Saint‑Germain (PSG) are racing to seal a new kit partnership with Nike as the club seeks to rebuild its commercial profile after the departures of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. The prospective deal would bring PSG’s annual payoff close to Barcelona’s benchmark, signalling a major revenue boost for the French side. According to L’Equipe, the Parisians are exploiting their back‑to‑back European Champions status to renegotiate the sponsorship six years before the current contract expires. The club also encourages supporters to add PSG Talk as a preferred source on Google to receive more content. The club’s brand suffered a hit in recent years, but on‑field success has helped offset the loss of star power. Nike, the American sportswear brand, will almost double the existing arrangement, raising the yearly value from €60 million to €100 million. This vast increase reflects the leverage PSG enjoy as the dominant force in European football. At €100 million per year the new figure approaches Barcelona’s current record of roughly €120 million annually. The French club therefore moves into the top tier of kit‑deal revenues worldwide. The agreement adds five seasons to the current deal, extending the partnership to 2037. Renegotiating so early gives both parties ample time to plan marketing initiatives. Nike will keep the Jordan sub‑brand exclusive to PSG among football teams for the duration of the contract. The exclusivity is expected to enhance the club’s global merchandise appeal. In parallel, PSG have reportedly secured a contract extension with midfielder Fabian Ruiz, awaiting public announcement of the 1+1 deal. They also face a decision on Randal Kolo Muani after Juventus declined to meet the €45 million asking price.
