Nice overturns Brest in dramatic comeback to close on top‑six

Nice overturned Brest with a late comeback in the opening match of Ligue 1's eighth round on Friday afternoon at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. The French top flight saw the visitors turn the game around after conceding early, securing a vital win.

Ludovic Ajorque gave the hosts the lead in the 15th minute of the first half. Elye Wahi equalised early in the second half and Sofiane Diop completed the turnaround shortly afterwards. Goalkeeper Diouf then denied Brest with a penalty save in the final minutes of the second period.

Nice move into top‑six chase

Com the result, Nice rise to eighth place on 11 points, just two points behind Rennes who sit at the head of the top‑six. Brest drop to 11th with nine points after the defeat.

Next up, Brest host Lorient between 30 October and 1 November, while Nice travel to face Rennes on 31 October at the Allianz Riviera.

The match report was published by Gazeta Esportiva and amplified through its Canal da Gazeta Esportiva, Instagram and WhatsApp channels, with the clubs BREST and NICE highlighted in the coverage.

Stade Francis-Le Blé once again proved a fortress for the home side, despite the eventual reversal.
