Il Comune di Napoli is preparing to present the guidelines for the Fuorigrotta stadium’s renovation, a venue shortlisted to host Euro 2032 matches. The dossier has already been sent to the FIGC with the aim of securing Napoli’s place among the five Italian cities selected for the tournament.
The municipal administration, led by Gaetano Manfredi, proceeds alongside Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who continues work on a privately owned stadium in San Giovanni a Teduccio. The two initiatives remain separate, each following its own development path for now.
Among the new stadium’s highlights are numerous 16‑seat skyboxes with private lounge areas. The project also plans roughly 600 hospitality seats designed to boost revenue from sponsors and premium fans.
Funding totals 200 million euros, with 150 million allocated by the Campania region and an additional 50 million provided by the Comune. Some works, such as the third‑ring restoration, have already begun, while the tender will be published by year‑end and the first stone is slated for the second half of 2027.
The redesigned Maradona stadium will hold about 60 000 spectators, feature a single tier that brings stands within seven metres of the pitch, and omit an athletics track. Three dedicated public‑transport lines will connect the arena, enhancing sustainability and accessibility.
