Neuer uncertain for Arsenal, Eberl talks about fluid in the foot

In the silence of the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich's German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer trains alone, while the team prepares for the Champions League clash against Arsenal on October 21. Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed that the 40‑year‑old is suffering from a fluid buildup in his foot, raising doubts that it could force him to miss the match.
Latest absences and updates
Neuer has already missed the Bavarians' last two games: the 3‑3 Champions League draw against Viking Stavanger and the 6‑1 Bundesliga defeat to Leipzig. The issue was first reported by coach Vincent Kompany, who noted the swelling in the foot.
Eberl clarified that "it's nothing serious, just a bit of fluid in the foot" and that the goalkeeper was not fully ready for the clash with Leipzig. The coach added that it will be seen whether Neuer will be ready for Wednesday, the day of the match against Arsenal.
In the meantime, young talent Jamal Musiala, sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during the Nations League, is close to returning. Eberl said: "I don't think he'll be ready for the match against Arsenal, but he'll be back in October anyway".
Jonas Urbig has taken the starting role in the last two games, temporarily replacing Neuer. The club hopes to have both players available for the upcoming challenges.
