Netherlands team flies to USA on KLM Orange Blossom

🇬🇧
The Netherlands national team departed Schiphol for the United States ahead of the World Cup. The flight left shortly after 16:30 and headed to New York where a friendly against Uzbekistan is scheduled for Monday. KLM operates the transatlantic leg on a Boeing 787-10 aircraft named Orange Blossom. The airline reports approximately seventy passengers aboard. The team will face Uzbekistan in a preparatory match on Monday in New York. The fixture is the first of their pre‑World Cup program. On Tuesday the squad will travel to Kansas City. Kansas City will serve as the base camp for the group stage. The World Cup runs from 11 June across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Netherlands' opening group match is on 14 June against Japan. The entire roster posed for a photo aboard the aircraft before departure. The image was shared on the KNVB's social media channels. Defender Jurriën Timber joined the squad after playing in the Champions League final for Arsenal. Timber missed the earlier training match against Algeria.
