Napoli’s €3m loan gamble on Badiashile ahead of Genoa clash

Benoit Badiashile has completed his medicals and signed for Napoli, arriving in good physical condition as Massimiliano Allegri prepares to decide whether to include him in the squad for the upcoming Genoa‑Napoli league clash. The French defender finished further checks in Rome and will train with his new teammates today.

Medical clearance and first training

Badiashile completed additional medical examinations in Rome before signing his contract with Napoli.

He has already reached the club’s Castel Volturno training centre, where he met Allegri and was introduced to the squad.

The club’s medical staff reported no issues following the examinations.

The news appeared in Stampa A− A+.

Il Napoli confirmed the signing after the medicals.

Today he will take part in his first training session alongside his new teammates.

Loan deal and financial terms

Napoli secured the defender on an onerous loan costing three million euros.

The agreement includes a one‑million‑euro performance bonus.

Napoli also holds an option to purchase Badiashile for twenty‑seven million euros.

The loan structure also sets a future purchase clause, giving Napoli control over his long‑term future.

Allegri wanted to sign Doumbia for Milan and Napoli, but Sporting have him

The transfer was listed under Calciomercato Napoli -.

In January 2023 Badiashile moved to Chelsea for roughly thirty‑eight million euros, a fee reflecting his status as a promising prospect.

In France he was regarded as a great prospect, which justified Chelsea’s investment.

His progress in London was hampered by injuries, competition for places and frequent managerial changes.

He never replicated the consistency he displayed at Monaco.

Napoli’s back line is currently thin, with Buongiorno and Marianucci unavailable for selection.

Defender Beukema has only partially rejoined the group after a recent absence.

The defensive injuries have forced Allegri to consider multiple options ahead of the match.

For the trip to Genoa, Allegri’s primary alternatives remain Rrahmani and Rafa Marin.

Allegri may add Badiashile to the matchday squad for Genoa, though his debut will depend on the coach’s final decision.

If selected, the French centre‑back would provide both depth and a different skill set to the defensive unit.

The club awaits the president’s official tweet confirming the signing.

Napoli will assess Badiashile’s integration during training before confirming his role in the season’s opening fixtures.
