Napoli Basket Repesa outlines EuroCup ambition at Palazzo San Giacomo

Yesterday morning, the Napoli Basket Repesa press conference unfolded in the Sala Giunta of Palazzo San Giacomo, where coach Jasmin Repesa outlined the club’s budget‑backed plan to field a highly competitive squad ready for the start of the domestic league and the EuroCup.

The event marked Napoli Basketball’s return to European competition after a twenty‑year absence and introduced the newly created Napoli Women Basketball team, which will compete in Serie A2.

The initiative aligns with the Napoli Capital European Sport strategy, positioning the city for future international challenges such as the America’s Cup 2027.

The upcoming season is billed as one of the most ambitious in recent decades, combining top‑flight Serie A action with EuroCup participation while emphasizing youth development and the growth of the women’s movement locally.

Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, Sports Assessor Emanuela Ferrante, club president Matt Rizzetta, general manager James Laughlin, sporting director Francesco Cavaliere and General Director of Napoli Women Basketball Sara Bocchetti were all present.

Coach Jasmin Repesa thanked the club’s leadership, noting, “I want to thank the whole society, starting with the president, for the support and the budget provided to build a very competitive team. We are finalising the squad and are confident we will find the right people and players.”

He added that the team will train in Slovenia to develop its playing system and chemistry, aiming to be a true team from the outset.

The announcement was accompanied by a technical note referencing Google Discover Fonti, Stampa A− A+, and the line “Si è tenuta ieri mattina nella Sala Giunta di Palazzo San Giacomo,” underscoring the event’s official documentation.
