Mourinho's wild tirade over Mbappé's treatment
Kylian Mbappé came under criticism after he suffered a knee injury while playing for France. Shortly afterwards he was photographed in front of a nightclub in Paris and released a video in which he was cycling in Switzerland – despite the warning from his coach José Mourinho that players should not cycle because of the injury risk.
Warnings and Reactions from Mourinho
Real coach Mourinho called the ongoing criticism of Mbappé “ridiculous” and emphasized that there are already bigger scandals, such as the Negreira case at Manchester City or the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal. He pointed out that Real Madrid does not let itself be distracted by such topics.
Defence of the Players and Medical Details
Mourinho explained that the Real Madrid players had acted exemplary in this phase. Injured players went straight to Valdebebas, had themselves examined and received their rehab plan. Mbappé also consulted an external specialist, whose diagnosis matched that of Real Madrid, and his knee has a history that should not be forgotten.
The coach emphasized that he is not lying and the truth is that the players behaved professionally. He criticised that the media and opponents look for problems, even though the medical procedures are transparent.
The situation has led to many speculative claims that something is brewing at Real Madrid and that Mourinho and Mbappé are not on the same wavelength. Some even floated the idea of a possible move of the French striker away from the Bernabéu.
Obviously Mourinho is not interested in this stir and considers the accusations unfounded. He repeated that the players, including Mbappé, had adhered to the guidelines and that the criticism of their behaviour is unfounded.
