Mbappé sparks TV clash as Pedrerol meets After Foot before Villarreal

Kylian Mbappé’s recent conduct has sparked a debate that now pits France against Spain, with Spanish presenter Josep Pedrerol being challenged by the French programme After Foot a day before Real Madrid’s clash with Villarreal at the Bernabéu and intensifying media scrutiny.

French media spark debate

French media have taken Mbappé’s recent behaviour as a catalyst for a wider discussion that now involves Spain. The debate, highlighted by Periodista Deportivo, frames the issue as a clash between Francia and España over the world‑cup champion’s attitude.

Pedrerol, host of El Chiringuito, answered the French invitation with humour. “Everything Pedrerol says is approved by Florentino Pérez, whose script I deliver each night,” he joked, denying any external influence on his critique of the striker.

Expert voices raise doubts

The French programme After Foot then issued a direct challenge, inviting Pedrerol to a deep‑dive discussion on the current level of the 2018 World Cup winner. The proposal arrived just a day before Real Madrid’s match with Villarreal, adding pressure to the televised exchange.

Daniel Riolo of RMC Sport, once a defender of Mbappé, now voiced concern. “I think Mbappé is not well,” he said, adding ironic questions: “Does he want something else? Is football tiring him?”

Critics point to a series of incidents: trips to Paris during recovery, bicycle rides filmed for social media, and ignoring Mourinho’s advice to limit exposure. These actions have fed doubts about his future at the Bernabéu and his commitment to Madrid.

Tension rose on El Chiringuito when Matías Prats Jr. labelled Mbappé’s attitude as “jeta”. Pedrerol immediately intervened, demanding respect and urging the commentator to retract his remarks.

The cross‑border dispute shows how a single player can ignite media battles that span both Francia and España, promising further heated chapters as the Villarreal fixture approaches.
