Trigueros ends career at 34 after Talavera departure
Villarreal midfielder Manu Trigueros announced his retirement from professional football at age 34.
In a farewell video posted on his social media, Trigueros expressed gratitude in his final message.
The Spanish international joined Villarreal’s first team in 2012 after progressing through the club’s youth system.
Trigueros made 465 appearances for Villarreal, scoring 53 goals and providing 51 assists during his 12-year senior tenure.
He helped Villarreal win the UEFA Europa League in 2021 and reach the Copa del Rey final in 2022.
Trigueros will continue linked to Villarreal as part of the club’s technical staff.
