Manna shuts down Besiktas bid for Napoli’s Neres in latest news
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna answered Besiktas’ inquiry on social media, stating unequivocally “No” when asked if the club was planning to sell Brazilian winger David Neres, a decisive response that quashed the latest transfer speculation and confirmed the player remains under contract.
Besiktas operational director Murat Özen posted the club’s request on social media, writing that he had contacted Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna and received the denial. He quoted Manna’s reply: “Ho scritto al direttore sportivo del Napoli Giovanni Manna. Ha smentito le notizie su David Neres. Alla domanda ‘State pensando di venderlo?’ ha risposto ‘No’.”
The Brazilian winger, who missed the second half of last season with an ankle injury, also missed the Dimaro and Castel di Sangro training camps, but is now declared fit and ready to make himself available to Napoli head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
