Mancini urges Italy to stay calm ahead of the match against Turkey

Italy is trying to forget the immediate knockout against Belgium in the Nations League and is preparing for the clash against Turkey, with head coach Roberto Mancini having urged the players to stay calm.

Mancini spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport, stating: "I think we need to stay calm and not get agitated as is happening". He emphasized that, despite the difficulty against Belgium, the team responded well.

The coach added that the match against Belgium could have turned out differently, but that the Belgians deserved the win. Now, with the second match against Turkey, Italy has the chance to do better and assess other players.

Regarding the rotation of players, Mancini stated that it is impossible to have the same player for four matches so close together and that other faces can be evaluated in important games.

The young Romano, at the centre of criticism for his debut, received Mancini's support, who described his performance as "excellent" and reminded that mistakes happen to everyone.

The coach described Turkey as a strong and talented team, despite their recent World Cup elimination, and acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming challenge.
