Mancini defends Manchester City: the double contract is not a problem

The coach responded with a statement in which he defended the club and denied any responsibility for the alleged double contract.

According to the accusations, Mancini would have received a first contract with a base salary of about €1.69 million net per year. A second consultancy agreement with Al Jazira, a club from Abu Dhabi, would provide €2.03 million per year for just four days of work, billed quarterly by Italy International Services.

The money, according to the reconstructions, would flow from Manchester City to the Abu Dhabi United Group, then to Al Jazira, which would finally pay Mancini. This mechanism would allow the coach's remuneration not to be fully declared.

The authorities also challenged the revenue from sponsorships and other financial information provided to the Premier League, inserting them into the same financial‑evasion scheme attributed to Manchester City.

"I don't think Manchester City has been found guilty, on the contrary. It's not a problem that concerns me, but it's not a new thing. Manchester City is not guilty and the double contract is not my problem, but theirs instead"

Mancini reiterated that the issue does not concern him directly.
