Manchester United eye key signings as deadline looms and £42m target emerges

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball ·

Manchester United are reported to have approached San Lorenzo goalkeeper Orlando Gill while also weighing a £42 million bid for Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao, as they aim to fill gaps before the transfer window closes on September 1. The club’s stance on the £42 m star has emerged alongside an agent‑confirmed approach for the World Cup‑featured keeper.

The summer window will shut on September 1, leaving just one month for Manchester United to complete any further business. The deadline creates urgency for manager Michael Carrick to finalise his squad overhaul.

Carrick’s side have already added five new faces: midfielders Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos lead the rebuild, goalkeeper Karl Darlow arrives as experienced backup to Senne Lammens, and young shot‑stopper Kit Margetson and winger Tynan Thompson have been secured for the future.

A goalkeeping shake‑up is already under way. Despite Senne Lammens cementing the number‑one spot last term, Andre Onana has returned on loan to Trabzonspor and Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek have been linked with moves away.

Agent Mario Jara confirmed United made an approach for Orlando Gill, the 26‑year‑old who starred for Paraguay at the World Cup. “We are in talks with English clubs as well as clubs in Germany,” Jara told DSports Radio, adding that United were among the clubs that made enquiries.

Jara said United received two concrete offers and are now in the negotiation phase. He stressed the sale is close, the timing is right and that Gill is prepared to step up in quality, but United are unlikely to pursue him after signing Karl Darlow.

Meanwhile, Juventus are reportedly open to selling winger Francisco Conceicao, a 23‑year‑old linked with a move to Old Trafford. dello Sport cites an asking price between £34 million and £42 million, with both United and Liverpool having made enquiries.

Conceicao made 42 appearances for Juventus last season. Juventus plan to balance the books after recruiting Bayer Leverkusen prospect Kerim Alajbegovic, making a Premier League move for the winger likely.

United must decide quickly whether to push for Gill or focus on the £42 million Conceicao bid, while also managing competition from Liverpool and other interested clubs before the September deadline.
