Mexicaanse winger Hirving Lozano eyes fresh start at LA Galaxy

By 4AllFootball ·

Mexicaanse winger Hirving Lozano, the 31‑year‑old former PSV Eindhoven forward, is on the verge of joining LA Galaxy from San Diego on a short‑term loan, offering the Major League Soccer side a fresh option after he fell out of favour at his current club.

He was told by San Diego that he no longer featured in the club’s plans, and consequently has not appeared in any competitive match since that announcement.

Since being sidelined, Lozano has only taken part in training sessions with the squad and remains on the bench, unable to contribute on the pitch.

Lozano left Eindhoven in 2024 for San Diego, a move valued at an estimated €11‑12 million, marking his return to the United States after a spell in Europe.

Reports indicate that LA Galaxy is prepared to give the winger a fresh start, with both clubs negotiating the terms of a loan that could see him in California for a brief period.

The Mexicaan international originally signed for PSV in 2017, and after two successful seasons earned a near €40 million transfer to Napoli, a deal driven by his performances in the Dutch league.

He returned to Eindhoven in 2023 when PSV paid €15 million for the attacker, a second stint that lasted until his 2024 departure for San Diego.

If the loan materialises, LA Galaxy describes the arrangement as a “fresh start” for Lozano, giving him the chance to restart his career in a new environment.
