Liverpool’s winger void widens as Man City dither opens £60m deal

Liverpool are still searching for a new winger to replace Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield at the end of June after agreeing to terminate his £400k‑a‑week contract early. Manchester City’s indecision has opened the door to a £60m forward deal, a scenario confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Salah’s departure removes the left‑footed, right‑wing threat that defined Liverpool’s attack for years. Current manager Andoni Iraola does not possess that specific profile, leaving a clear tactical void at Anfield.

Reports continue to swirl around Bradley Barcola, the Paris Saint‑Germain forward valued at around £145m. Although the France international could provide a top‑quality attacking option, he is right‑footed and favours the left side, making him an imperfect stylistic fit for the role Salah vacated.

A more comparable alternative is 22‑year‑old Savinho, who has told Manchester City he wants to quit this summer in search of regular first‑team football. The Brazilian winger is valued at £60m and is contracted to Enzo Maresca’s side until 2031.

Fabrizio Romano wrote on X: “Savinho informs Manchester City about his desire to leave this summer. Savinho wants to play more and develop in his career, MCFC have been informed by the winger. All in Man City hands now.”

Romano also reported that Tottenham have Savinho at the top of their shopping list, a claim first revealed in May. Meanwhile, Roberto De Zerbi’s side has given Manchester City until the weekend to conclude talks, or they will turn to other targets.

Spurs are seeking a quick answer on Savinho, and if negotiations collapse Liverpool could get the winger, provided Richard Hughes is willing to meet the £60m price tag. Should Hughes decline, Liverpool may shift focus to other options.
