Liverpool bets five million on Djylian N’Guessan and loans him to Brest

In the corridors of Anfield, the Reds officially announced on Friday the season‑long loan of the young French striker Djylian N’Guessan, freshly signed by Liverpool, who thus joins Hugo Ekitike after the signings of Jérémy Jacquet and Bradley Barcola in the transfer window.

The player, aged sixteen, had already signed a professional contract and played thirteen appearances in Ligue 1, including thirteen matches over two years, which convinced the English executives to invest five million to sign him.

The Reds want to strengthen their squad with the French duo, but they already have five loans in place, bringing them close to the maximum limit of six allowed loans.

Loan to Brest despite the limit

But the executives chose to loan him to Brest for the season, in order to respect the loan rule while ensuring playing time for the young striker.

Saint‑Étienne, the player's training club, extended his contract before making him available to the Ty‑Zefs, but Liverpool ultimately completed the transfer.

The transfer was announced on Friday, however Djylian N’Guessan will only officially become a Liverpool player in January, while remaining at Brest until the end of the campaign.

His French teammates will have to wait before forming a blue‑white‑red quartet at Anfield, as the loan delays their reunion on the Reds' pitch.
