Gakpo collapsed after a hard challenge from Serbia’s Sasa Lukic twelve minutes into the Netherlands‑Serbia game in Belgrade. The 27‑year‑old remained on his feet briefly but signalled to the bench and was replaced by Ruben van Bommel in the 17th minute.
