Real Madrid accuses Javier Tebas of obsession, threatens LaLiga
In the corridors of the Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid officials issued this Tuesday a scathing statement against LaLiga president Javier Tebas, after the criticism that followed the 2‑1 loss in the Madrid derby in the Spanish league.

The Madrid club describes Javier Tebas’s remarks as “intolerable” and accuses the official of using his role to “denigrate and attack” Real on a regular basis. He characterises this attitude as an “obsession on a recurring basis” towards the Spanish capital.
Javier Tebas had responded to the complaints of José Mourinho and his team after the 2‑1 loss in the derby, stating that claiming referees are targeting Real Madrid “is living in another galaxy”. He added that this discourse serves as an alibi to hide the shortcomings visible since the start of the season.
Real Madrid also reproaches Tebas for commenting on an article by an independent journalist, judging his sporting strategy “absurd and irresponsible”. According to the club, these positions damage the image of the competition and of Spanish football abroad.
Real Madrid in LaLiga doubts Javier Tebas’s ability to lead LaLiga, believing that Spanish professional football needs a leader “capable of acting with neutrality”. The statement reminds that the LaLiga president is not the owner of the competition, but a manager serving the clubs.

Real demands a presidency fulfilling its mission “with honesty” and denounces Tebas’s attitude as an obstacle to the governance of the league. This deep split, born from the derby’s refereeing dispute, is now turning into an institutional debate on the governance of Spanish football.
