Laimer secures Bayern's Champions League win over Atletico

Bayern Munich secured a 2-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on the fourth matchday of the UEFA Champions League. Konrad Laimer was the hero on Tuesday. The Austrian international scored the second goal for Bayern after Harry Kane had played the ball to him, and found the net in the 74th minute.
Bayern win thanks to Laimer
Bayern were the decisive side against Atletico, but found clear chances hard to come by against the compactly organised Madrilenians. Before halftime Lennart Karl missed the best opportunity after a pass from Dayot Upamecano. After a pass from the former Salzburg player, the 18-year-old shot over the goal in the box (23').
In the 54th minute Karl took advantage of a pass from Robin Le Normand and put the ball past Jan Oblak into the net. Upamecano tried a post‑shot in the 73rd minute but missed the goal. Laimer then used Kane's pass, struck from a sharp angle and found the net.
It was Laimer's third goal in 57 Champions League matches. In the 89th minute he received applause for his farewell.
“It was fun. We could have even scored one or two more goals …”, Laimer said.
