Kylian Mbappé reassures France ahead of WK semi-final
Kylian Mbappé has reassured France that he is fit for the upcoming WK semi-final. The French attacker told the media, "Ik ben in orde" (I am in order) after a knock in the quarter-final.
The WK top scorer suffered an injury in the quarter-final against Marokko, but he reported that he was fine after the match. "Ik voel me goed" (I feel good), Mbappé said to the French TV channel M6, adding, "Ik kreeg een tik op mijn enkel, maar ik ben in orde" (I got a kick on my ankle, but I am in order).
Mbappé had to be substituted after 75 minutes, having earlier scored the 1-0 goal with a beautiful shot. Despite the incident, it is expected that Mbappé will be available for selection in the semi-final against België or Spanje.
The French team is optimistic about their chances, with Mbappé saying, "We staan in de volgende ronde en zijn erg blij, maar er is nog een lange weg te gaan" (We are in the next round and are very happy, but there is still a long way to go).
