Kvaratskhelia carries PSG's physical burden during international break
While Paris Saint‑Germain closely monitors the fatigue of its internationals, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has logged more minutes than any other Parisian during the latest international break, raising physical management questions for Luis Enrique.
An unmatched playing volume
Kvaratskhelia played four full matches for Georgia, totalling 360 minutes. No other PSG player reached this total, placing him at the top of the group of the most used Parisian players.
Comparison with the Portuguese co‑internationals
Full‑back Nuno Mendes, who logged 348 minutes with Portugal, falls behind Kvaratskhelia, as does midfielder Vitinha, who accumulated 301. Thus, the Georgian clearly outpaces the two Portuguese pillars of the club.
Other heavily utilised players
Defender Illia Zabarnyi rounds out the list with 270 minutes, while other internationals such as Warren Zaïre‑Emery did not play at all and João Neves logged only 65 minutes.
This workload is all the more significant as Kvaratskhelia’s winger role demands multiple accelerations, changes of direction and high‑intensity efforts, even in the absence of injury.
Coach Luis Enrique has already made rotation and the lack of fixed roles a season priority, but he will now have to choose between immediately preserving his striker or continuing to rely on one of his most dangerous players.
PSG’s packed schedule, combined with very different physical recoveries, makes managing this “invisible physical debt” crucial for the rest of the campaign.
