Ibrahima Konaté, centre‑back of Real Madrid, suffered a mild sprain in his right knee during training in the France national team camp last Wednesday. The French Federation announced it on Thursday, after an MRI confirmed the injury. The player returned to Spain’s capital to begin his recovery.

The diagnosis was made after the defender took part in the preparation for the Nations League matches against Turkey, Belgium (twice) and Italy. The Federation reported that the decision to sideline Konaté was taken jointly with the medical staff of the white club.
