Köln close to securing Tottenham’s Mikey Moore on loan
Tottenham Hotspur’s 18‑year‑old attacking prospect Mikey Moore is on the verge of a loan move to Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln, with both Fabrizio Romano and Marlon Irlbacher saying talks are at an “advanced stage”. Irlbacher added that the Geißbockheim‑based club is the favourite destination for the England youth international.
Several other clubs have shown interest, but Köln currently hold the strongest position in the race for his signature. The German side’s pursuit reflects a desire to bolster attacking depth ahead of the new season.
A temporary transfer would allow Moore to continue accumulating senior experience while remaining a long‑term prospect for Tottenham’s future plans. The loan is therefore framed as a development step rather than a permanent departure.
Moore spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Rangers, where he made 47 competitive appearances and scored seven goals. His performances earned him both Rangers’ Men’s Young Player of the Year award and the PFA Scotland Men’s Young Player of the Year accolade.
The London native joined Tottenham’s academy at seven, progressed rapidly through the ranks and became the club’s youngest Premier League player when he debuted against Manchester City in May 2024. He later netted his first senior goal against Elfsborg during Tottenham’s successful 2024/25 Europa League run.
Described as possessing acceleration, close control and direct one‑on‑one ability, Moore can operate on either flank or cut inside to link with a centre‑forward. His versatility offers Köln an unpredictable option against opponents who sit deep.
Köln’s recent recruitment of English prospects Jahmai Simpson‑Pusey and Reigan Heskey demonstrates a clear strategy of adding highly regarded young talent from England, and Moore would be another ambitious addition to that growing squad.
For Tottenham, the loan preserves Moore’s development pathway while keeping him under contract. For Köln, the deal supplies immediate attacking reinforcement and the potential to pair the English teenager with fellow youngster Said El Mala on opposite wings.
