Klopp looks to a new nomination option at the DFB after the break

German national team coach Jürgen Klopp has already taken a promising step for the German national team after his first international break: The coach now looks at a new nomination option for the DFB, after in the Augsburg‑Union‑Berlin duel the U21 defender Noahkai Banks expressed his interest and his willingness to play for the A‑team.

Klopp after first international break

National team coach Jürgen Klopp has successfully gotten through the first international break. He emphasizes that this is only the beginning of what he hopes will be a long and successful future with the DFB. The break allows him to examine new options for squad planning.

New option: Noahkai Banks

On yesterday's Bundesliga afternoon between FC Augsburg and Union Berlin, a new nomination option emerged for Klopp. The U21 international Noahkai Banks, centre‑back of FC Augsburg, stated that he sees himself in the DFB jersey in the future. His statement came immediately after the match.

Banks told Sky Sport: 'The decision is final, I am now German. I have thought about it for a very long time with my family and also did not play the World Cup in the USA. I grew up here, I feel German and I want to wear the eagle on my chest.'

At the end of September, the 19‑year‑old Banks suffered a lateral ligament tear in his knee during the Euro qualifiers with the German U21. The tear forces him to miss several months. Only after full recovery could he be considered for the DFB again.

The centre‑back has a market value of €25 million and was, until his injury, a regular member of manager Manuel Baum's team at FC Augsburg. His performance level makes him an attractive option for the A‑team.

If Banks is fit again after his rehabilitation, he could, according to Klopp, be a promising addition to the German national team. This would expand the DFB's selection repertoire with the new option.
