Katie McCabe set to join Chelsea from Arsenal

Katie McCabe has rejected a new contract offer from Arsenal and will transfer to Chelsea.

The Ireland captain’s move follows failed contract negotiations with Arsenal. McCabe’s contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June.

Chelsea have agreed terms with McCabe, pending personal and medical agreements. The move is expected to be finalized within days.

McCabe made 188 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 31 goals. She captained Ireland 29 times since 2019.

Chelsea will strengthen their left-back options with McCabe’s arrival. The club currently features players such as Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby.

Arsenal may seek a replacement for McCabe before the summer transfer window closes.
