Kane lifts first Ballon d’Or in London

Wow – Liverpool have their own Harry Kane, and the England striker celebrated an unforgettable evening in London as he lifted his first Ballon d’Or trophy, a moment the international will never forget. The award caps a year of impeccable form for club and country.
He led Bayern Munich to unprecedented heights. He also performed extremely well at the World Cup, guiding the Three Lions close to winning it all.
Kane was briefly linked with a move to Anfield, but Premier League clubs made only tentative attempts while he was at Tottenham, and he stayed loyal until the very end. Given his age and his current club being a European rival, it now seems unlikely Liverpool will pursue him, especially as there is no need for a new forward at Anfield.
New signings and recovery
Alexander Isak arrived last summer for a Premier League transfer record and is now banging in goals left, right and centre. Hugo Ekitake is making good progress in his recovery and is hoped to be in top form by the start of the new year.
Lewis Koumas has caught the eye with recent cameo appearances and is a well‑liked figure whose relentless energy fits Andoni Iraola’s preferred style of play. Behind Koumas, an exciting young academy forward is emerging.
Will Wright, signed last year after scoring over fifty goals at academy level for Salford City, has this season netted ten goals in eleven games with two assists, and in total recorded sixteen goals and seven assists in twenty‑nine appearances for the Reds at U19 and U21 level. Tall and technically sublime, his play mirrors Kane’s and he is tipped to become a future Ballon d’Or contender, perhaps as early as 2026.
The contrast between Kane’s world‑stage triumphs and the rise of home‑grown talent highlights Liverpool’s blend of star power and emerging prospects as the club looks ahead.
